Distance 178.5 km Number of Steps 10,744 steps or 5.2 miles Time of Filing 1:30 AM Accommodations We are staying at Le Moulin D’Olt, a riverside hotel and restaurant near the village of Montjézieu. The river in question is called Le Lot but it used to be called Le Olt. The river itself is a lot like any of the many rivers in the Great Smoky Mountains. The hotel itself also has an “Appalachian” quality. We have a gravel parking lot. A low, shoddy concrete wall separating our gravel parking lot and a thirty foot drop into the river. Which currently is low with many innertube-able type rapids. We have an above ground pool and a trampoline. I could pee onto the road out front from my bedroom window if I wanted to, and sometimes when traffic goes by I want to. But then when the traffic ceases I hear the river, serenity returns and my mind quiets once again. There are lots of flies. We have flies everywhere. We are beginning to think France features flies. Or maybe it’s as simple as a nationwide absence of A/C, and screens on windows and doors, who knows, lolz! Le Moulin D’Olt features a patio, a bar, a mix of wallpaper and a comprehensive lack of right-angles and intention.
Ugh, photograph the start, again. We are so over the start, but yeah sure. ✓

Inconclusive. It’s getting progressively better throughout the evening which is promising. One thing though, it doesn’t work in our rooms. Which is fine because we’re working in the bar under the TV in a cloud of gnats and flies.
It was hot and bright until midday when it threatened to rain. Which it didn’t. Then it was hot and bright again and the whole thing felt like one of those sneezes that never comes.
